“Lia, I just did something I’ve been wanting, no craving to do for quite a while, and it was better than good.” He watched the colour flood her face and toned down his amusement. “Did you think I would be smug?” The slight tinge of anger in his tone disappeared as she shook her head vehemently. “I’m a male. What do you think I should be doing, how should I be behaving?”
“I thought you might like me even less.” He laughed reaching up and sliding his hand into her hair to pull her head back to his chest.
“I do. This shouldn’t have happened but it seems you defy my logic.” This time she laughed. He shook his head and a wry smile came and swiftly went. “I’m glad it makes you happy because it annoys the shit out of me.”
